Damp
Proofing
At MRJ Plastering, we provide the service of Damp Proofing. Damp proofing is a type of moisture control applied to building walls and floors, preventing the chance of moisture within the interior spaces or a building. Damp problems are generally considered as one of the most frequent problems encountered in homes and buildings alike.
Damp Proofing is used to resist the passage of water under pressure. However, moisture resistance is not exactly absolute, as buildings always have a slight chance of developing moisture and damp proofing is preferably taken out more than once.
Damp proofing can be carried out in a number of ways including damp-proof course (DPC) and damp-proof membrane (DPM).
Marble
Plastering
At MRJ Plastering, we provide the service of Marble Plastering (also known as Venetian Plastering), which is a wall and ceiling finish consisting of plaster mixed with matured lime putty, which can be applied with the use of a trowel or spatula in thin layers on a multiple scale. This is then burnished to present a smooth surface to give the illusion of texture and depth.
Examples of this plastering technique available by us at include Lucidato, Marmorino and Intona.
Marble or Venetian plaster can be either coloured or tinted using natural or synthetic colourants. The fact that Marble/Venetian plaster can be tinted is especially helpful when choosing specific colour of marble to your exact precision, or when a colour that does not naturally exist is wanted or preferred.

It tends to be used generally on exterior walls although it can be used to feature an interior walls also.
Rendering can be fine or coarse, smooth or textured, coloured or natural, painted or pigmented, depending on the specific ‘look’ required.
The rendering process used on houses of brick, concrete and mud has been used for centuries, with the intention of improving the appearance of exterior walls, as well as, sometimes, the weather resistance.
